Since moving into my studio in December 2022, Beckenham Place Mansion has become an integral part of my artistic journey serving as a sanctuary for introspection and reflection as well as inspiration and I am grateful to be part of the vibrant artist community here.
It has taken me many years to understand that my identity as an artist is deeply intertwined with my role as a doctor, each influencing and enriching the other in profound ways. I am privileged to witness the human experience in its most vulnerable and profound moments. I interact with patients from diverse backgrounds, hearing their stories, witnessing their journeys, and experiencing the raw emotions that accompany the healing process. Through my abstract paintings, I strive to capture the essence of hidden life. Exploring the interplay of textures, colours and forms, my work delves into the beauty of imperfection, transience and the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed. Ultimately, my dual identity as a doctor and an artist allows me to approach both realms with a perspective that the world is ever-changing, and embracing this impermanence can lead to a deeper understanding of the underlying reality.
