London Irish Harp Day with Janet Harbison

Newly settled in London, JANET HARBISON, Ireland’s “Queen of the Harp” is running a first ‘LONDON HARP DAY’ on St.Patrick’s Day, 2018.
Janet is one of Ireland’s best-known and celebrated Irish harpers that has been at the cutting edge of the resurgence of Irish harping, has performed, composed, taught and directed various ensembles including the Grammy Award winning Belfast Harp Orchestra, has been many-times-awarded for her pioneering work with music education and making the oral method of teaching accessible to all music genres. Janet is currently the Visiting Professor of Irish Music at Ulster University (Northern Ireland).
Always vibrant and entertaining, and at the same time, informative and inspirational, Janet is certain to give Irish harp players in London a great St.Patrick’s Day experience with her workshops and recital.
Programme of events
- 11am – 1pm – Workshop for Intermediate–Advanced players
- 2 – 2.50pm – Lecture: Introduction to Oral Learning and Teaching
- 3 – 5pm – Workshop for Novice–Intermediate players
- 5.15pm – Concert with Janet Harbison
- £30 for one or both workshops, and the whole day!
