An intimate concert with Fini Bearman
3 May @ 19:30 - 21:30£15
Tonight there will be a very special duo performance from singer/songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Fini Bearman together with cellist Zosia Jagodzinska. In the intimate and inviting setting of the Drawing Room in Beckenham they will perform a special concert of original songs ; songs which tell stories of the everyday experience from diverse perspectives, as well as delving into history’s rich tapestry of mythology and folklore. This music is inspired by writers and poets such as Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Rupi Kaur and Virginia Wolf, and musically call on a spectrum of influences from Paul Simon to Becca Stevens. With the launch of Fini’s album, La Loba, coming out in September, tonight is a rare opportunity to hear this much in-demand singer performing her brand new collection of songs.
Fini has a ‘rare sense of melody running through her eclectic compositions, full of catchy twists and turns’, creating an ‘arresting and uniquely personal’ sound; her voice, effortlessly moves between a light precision and warm soulfulness is unmistakably her own’. (Liam Noble)
‘…Skilful and accurate… wistful soulfulness’
John Fordham (The Guardian)
‘…A stunning album..A thing of unsurpassed beauty. One of the most memorable collections of self-penned songs you’ll hear this year’
album of 2016
