A six-week course run by Annie Lyons, best-selling author of five novels including Not Quite Perfect and The Choir on Hope Street.
This is an introductory course aimed at anyone who wants to have a go at writing – whether you long to discover if you really do have that novel in you or just want to put pen to paper and see where it takes you.
It is a friendly, relaxed and fun course, designed to ease you in to the writing process and bring you confidence as a writer. Over the six weeks we will cover the basics of storytelling; generating ideas, finding your writing style, editing and developing your craft so that you end up with a clear writing goal to pursue.
Each session will run from 10.30 – 12.30 with a fifteen minute break and will include a mixture of ‘how to’ teaching from me (nothing too formal), exercises and discussions. We will use a combination of individual and group exercises to get the brains buzzing and the words flowing!

About the tutor:
After twelve years working in book selling and publishing, Annie Lyons’ debut novel, Not Quite Perfect, became a number one bestseller. Her most recent book, The Happiness List is an uplifting story about community, hope, friendship and cake. Annie wants to share her love of writing because she believes that creating new characters and worlds through stories is one of the best things in life.
