Christmas is getting closer… and if like us you have been thinking about making this a more sustainable holiday season and maybe making some gifts? Well why not kickstart your Christmas present creation in our beginners sewing course special over 3 weeks. You’ll find all the elements of our absolute beginners courses but with a Christmas twist.
This is the perfect course to start your sewing journey! Over the course, you will gradually build up your skills, techniques and knowledge. We teach everything you need to know to be able to confidently sew basic projects and complete simple dressmaking and of course make lovely gifts and be able to repair and restore textiles!
Skill Level:
Absolute Beginner
Suitable for those who have never sewn before or have lost confidence and want a sewing booster.
What you learn:
The basics of threading the machine and winding a bobbin
The different functions of the machine/Sewing seams/Sewing in a straight line/Sewing curves, corners and pivoting essential sewing terms, and stitch information
Finishing seams and reverse stitching
Understanding fabrics, grain lines & seam allowances Pinning and marking fabric
During the course we will make a number of projects:
Christmas Gift bag
Christmas themed Applique Cushion
Christmas tree decorations
