Nature Printing on Textiles for Tweens & Teens

We will discuss the importance of nature-inspired art and textile embellishment.

Outdoor exploration you will accompany the artist on an outdoor expedition to collect natural materials in our beautiful parkland (bring rain wear just in case!)to observe and appreciate the textures, shapes, and patterns found in nature, we will discuss sustainable harvesting practices and respect for the environment.

We will return indoors and set up the workshop space.
The visiting artist will demonstrate various nature printing techniques, such as leaf printing, flower pounding, and bark rubbing.
Explain the materials and tools needed for nature printing.
Provide safety guidelines and demonstrate proper techniques.

Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with nature printing techniques.
They can create their own designs on fabric or paper using the collected natural materials.

Textile Embellishment Techniques (sewing tutors)
We will Introduce various embellishment techniques, such as embroidery, beadwork, and other adornments.
Discuss how these techniques can be used to enhance the nature prints created earlier.
Provide demonstrations and examples of textile embellishment.

Creative Exploration
Participants will have time to further develop their nature prints and incorporate embellishments.
we will encourage experimentation and personal expression.
