Philosophy at the Mansion – Knowledge and Skepticism
23rd April 2018 @ 19:30 - 20:45£10
Are you curious about life’s big questions? Are you interested in reflecting on your thoughts, unpacking arguments and challenging assumptions, so as to try and better understand the world?
Join us to discuss some of philosophy’s biggest conundrums across a series of five weekly sessions, facilitated by The Philosophy Foundation Specialist Louise Chatterton. Each week, we will draw upon a different aspect of the Mansion or its grounds – snapshots of the building, the park, its woodland and those who use or inhabit it – to launch us into a collaborative philosophical enquiry around a significant question or classic problem of philosophy. What can we know? What makes an action wrong? Are we free? Our investigative method and the structure of each session makes this suitable for anyone interested in taking part in thought-provoking conversation, whether they are brand new to Western philosophy or already intimately acquainted with the discipline.
