So Last Century Vintage Market at the Mansion is back at Beckenham Place Park for another free event to visit and enjoy! *
As usual, there’ll be an exciting selection of 30 of the best vintage traders, some you’ll be familiar with and several new ones too. They’ll be outdoors and inside the ground floor of the Mansion. Expect to find gorgeous mid-century furniture, lighting, homeware and ceramics, original posters, prints, antique maps and charts, brocante, salvage, fashion, accessories and lots more.
Stay around for lunch, as we’ll have a tempting array of street food vans outside, plus the best coffee by Beats & Grind and delectable brownies by Slate ‘n’ Crumb.
In addition, the excellent Mansion Cafe and Bar will be serving a delicious range of food plus craft ale amongst other drinks, on a take-away service. They’ll also have their ice cream trike out, if it’s sunny!
Our resident Market band, The Alvar Treefrogs, will be back once again playing park-perfect New Orleans jazz from the 1920s and 30s! They’ll be busking out on the grass from midday – don’t miss them!
Call in to see our friends KnowHowYou Sewing School on the Ground Floor of the Mansion and find out about the various classes and courses they have to offer, and Verso Vintage in their shop in the basement.
So come along on Sunday 13 June for lots of unique and unusual vintage things to buy, great food and drink, and free entertainment. Explore the Mansion and enjoy the stunning parkland while you’re there!
* Dependent on Local Authority approval and Government Covid restrictions at the time.
Step-free entrances to Ground Floor rooms only, with level access throughout. Dogs welcome.
The safety and well-being of visitors and our traders is our utmost priority. These are the principal measures we will have in place on the day:
Face coverings must be worn inside the Mansion. We advise wearing one also whilst browsing the stalls outside.
A one-way system will be in operation indoors.
Stalls indoors and outdoors will spaced further apart than usual.
Contactless payments encouraged whenever possible
Hand sanitising stations will be in place at the main entrance, and elsewhere indoors and outside the building.
Toilets and high-frequency touch points sanitised regularly by Mansion cleaning staff..
Monitoring numbers of people entering and leaving the building, to allow social-distancing and prevent overcrowding.
There will be a Contact Tracing system in operation. You must register your visit by using the NHS Covid-19 app on your phone to scan the Mansion’s QR code displayed at the entrance to the building (if you don’t wish to use the app, or your phone doesn’t support it, we ask that you provide your name and phone number which we will retain on a written register for a maximum of 21 days).
Please don’t come if you feel unwell.
Please follow the latest Government restrictions whilst at the market.
Information about the Mansion’s Covid-19 measures can be found here
We recommend using public transport and/or walking, or cycling, to the market if at all possible, as parking is limited.
Beckenham Hill Station – 8mins walk
Beckenham Junction Station – 12mins
Ravensbourne Station – 15mins
New Beckenham Station – 19mins
Bus – 54, 354, 320, 227, 367, 181
The new car park has limited spaces. It is no longer permitted to park along the carriageway access road to the Mansion (you risk a ticket if you park over the double yellow lines, or on the grass verges). If you do prefer to arrive by car we advise avoiding the busiest period (11am-2pm). Note that vehicle entry is only via the Beckenham Hill Road entrance ( Sat Nav: BR3 1SY) opposite the Church of St Augustine. If your GPS takes you elsewhere, try SE6 3PU instead, or use ///follow.skinny.fade
St George’s Road car park, near to Beckenham Junction Station, is free on Sundays and just a 12 minute walk. There is on-street parking close to the Downham entrance on Old Bromley Road (Sat Nav: BR1 4LE) and near to Ravensbourne Station, (Sat Nav: BR3 5HE). Please respect local residents and other road users, and park considerately. The Mansion is an enjoyable 15 minute stroll across the Park from both entrances.
Most traders take cards and contactless payments. The nearest cashpoint is at Waitrose near Beckenham Junction Station, a 12 minute walk away.
