So Last Century Vintage Market
3 May @ 10:00 - 17:00Free
So Last Century Vintage Market at the Mansion returns to beautiful Beckenham Place Park for May Day Bank Holiday Monday!*
Expect to find an exciting, hand-picked selection of 30 of the best vintage traders, outside and inside the Ground Floor rooms of the Mansion. There’ll be gorgeous mid-century furniture, lighting, homeware and ceramics, original posters, prints, antique maps and charts, brocante, salvage, fashion, accessories and much more.
It’s worth sticking around for lunch, as we’ll have a tempting array of street food vans outside, including gorgeous wood-fired pizza by Van Dough, mouthwatering bao buns and noodles by You Bao, tasty burritos, tacos and quesadillas by Route 66, delicious kati rolls by Raastawala plus excellent coffee by Beats & Grind and amazing brownies by Slate ‘n’ Crumb. We also hope to have an ice cream trike if it’s sunny!
In addition, the excellent Basement Bar will be serving craft ale amongst other tipples, and the Mansion Cafe will be operating a take-away service.
There’ll also be great live music! We’re very excited to welcome back The Alvar Treefrogs, a 6-piece band playing their own unique blend of New Orleans sounds! They’ll be busking out on the grass around lunchtime – make sure you catch them!
Also, call in to see our friends KnowHowYou Sewing School on the Ground Floor of the Mansion and find out about the various classes and courses they have to offer.
So come along on May Day to find lots of vintage treasures, explore the mansion and enjoy the stunning parkland while you’re there!
*Dependent on Government Covid restrictions and discretion of the Local Authority at the time.
Step-free entrances to Ground Floor rooms only, with level access throughout. Dogs welcome.
COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Safety
The safety and well-being of visitors and our traders is our utmost priority. These are the principal measures we will have in place on the day:
Face coverings must be worn inside the Mansion. We advise wearing one also whilst browsing the stalls outside.
A one-way system will be in operation indoors.
Stalls indoors and outdoors will spaced further apart than usual.
Contactless payments encouraged whenever possible
Hand sanitising stations will be in place at the main entrance, and elsewhere indoors and outside the building.
Toilets and high-frequency touch points sanitised regularly by Mansion cleaning staff..
Monitoring numbers of people entering and leaving the building, to allow social-distancing and prevent overcrowding.
Please don’t come if you feel unwell.
There will be a Contact Tracing system in operation. You must register your visit by using the NHS Covid-19 app on your phone to scan the Mansion’s QR code displayed at the entrance to the building (if you don’t wish to use the app, or your phone doesn’t support it, we ask that you provide your name and phone number which we will retain on a written register for a maximum of 21 days).
Please follow the latest Government restrictions whilst at the market.
We recommend using public transport and/or walking, or cycling, to the market if at all possible, as parking is limited.

Beckenham Junction Station – 12mins
Ravensbourne Station – 15mins

The new car park has limited spaces. If you do prefer to arrive by car we advise avoiding the busiest period (11am-2pm). Note that vehicle entry is only via the Beckenham Hill Road entrance ( Sat Nav: BR3 1SY) opposite the Church of St Augustine. If your GPS takes you elsewhere, try SE6 3PU instead, or use ///follow.skinny.fade
St George’s Road car park, near to Beckenham Junction Station, is free on Sundays and just a 12 minute walk. There is on-street parking close to the Downham entrance on Old Bromley Road (Sat Nav: BR1 4LE) and near to Ravensbourne Station, (Sat Nav: BR3 5HE). Please respect local residents and other road users, and park considerately. The Mansion is an enjoyable 15 minute stroll across the Park from both entrances.
