So Last Century’s Vintage Market at the Mansion

6 May @ 10:00 - 17:00

Hot on the heels of their busy Easter event, So Last Century are back at Beckenham Place Park with another Vintage Market at the Mansion on May Bank Holiday!

If you’ve been before, you’ll know the Market hosts around 50 of the best vintage traders you’ll find anywhere. Lots are London-based, but some travel from as far away as Dorset and Lincoln to be here!

Outside and inside the Mansion you can expect to find mid 20th century furniture, lighting, homeware and ceramics, original posters, prints, books, records, antique maps and charts, brocante, salvage, vintage designer fashion, and lots more.

Most traders take card payments, and will deliver locally if you want to buy something big, like an armchair!

There’ll be delicious street food outside, plus great coffee and amazing brownies by Slate ‘n’ Crumb.

In addition, the excellent Mansion Bar and Cafe will be serving craft ale amongst other tipples, and delicious lunchtime food.

Some of the resident artists will have their studios open on the first and lower ground floors. It’s a great chance to see their work, have a chat and buy some outstanding original artwork.

Call in to see KnowHowYou sewing school on the Ground Floor of the Mansion and find out about the various classes and courses they have to offer, and Verso Vintage shop in the basement.

SLC’s resident Market band, The Alvar Treefrogs, will be back again, busking with their inimitable New Orleans jazz sounds on the grass at the back of the Mansion.

So, come along on the May Bank Holiday and find loads of unusual things to buy, explore the mansion and enjoy the beautiful park while you’re there!

Step-free entrance, and level access throughout the ground floor rooms. Dogs welcome indoors.

Getting there:
Using public transport and/or walking or cycling to the Market is recommended if possible, as parking facilities are limited and expensive.

See Lewisham Council’s website for more information on how to get to the Park.

By train:
Beckenham Hill Station – 8mins walk
Beckenham Junction Station – 12mins
Ravensbourne Station – 15mins
New Beckenham Station – 19mins

By bus:
Bus – 54, 354, 320, 227, 367, 181

By car:
The car park has a very limited number of spaces. Paying to park is cashless and by the PayByPhone app only. Charges are complex and based on the emissions of your vehicle. If you still prefer to arrive by car we advise avoiding the busiest period (11am-2pm). Note that vehicle entry is only via the Beckenham Hill Road entrance (Sat Nav: BR3 1SY) opposite the Church of St Augustine.

We recommend using the cheaper St George’s Road car park, near to Beckenham Junction Station, just a 12 minute walk away. Alternatively, there is some on-street parking close to the Downham entrance on Old Bromley Road (Sat Nav: BR1 4LE) and near to Ravensbourne Station, (Sat Nav: BR3 5HE). Please respect local residents and other road users, and park considerately.

The Mansion is an enjoyable 15 minute stroll across the Park from both these entrances.

The nearest cashpoint is at Waitrose near Beckenham Junction Station
