Sustainable September Open Doors

Our doors are open for visitors again and this time, you can immerse yourself in our first event for Sustainable September. This event will include traders from the Wasteless Market across the dining room and drawing room. You can also expect to see a few of our tenants involved: KHY Sewing School and Upcycled Upholstery running a few different sustainable style workshops and Verso Vintage holding a stall in the atrium area.

A bit more to know:

Wasteless Market was established in 2019 when our founder brought together small local businesses and customers with a passion for reducing plastic waste and carbon footprint in a series of monthly indoor markets.
We are delighted to return to Beckenham Place with a selection of our most interesting stallholders selling upcycled, recycled and sustainably sourced crafts, all chosen because of their quality and commitment to minimising their impact on the planet.
In addition we will have our popular refills stall, selling Miniml and Sesi household and personal care products by weight into customers’ own containers. Whether it’s bubble bath, cleaning products, laundry or dishwashing liquids, we’ve got it in a range of natural fragrances. We’ve even got unscented washing up liquid for those who like their kitchens unfragranced! To accompany these we have a wide range of compostable kitchen and bathroom accessories such as sponges, cloths, brushes, soaps and more.

Upcycled Upholstery will be collaborating with KHY Sewing School in the Old Library and championing everything sustainable including zero-waste, upcycled and recycled product. Expect to see our best -selling Neon Typography prints made from recycled paper as well as our new ‘Prints with Purpose’ made from off-cut linen, bookmarks made from leather off-cuts, notebooks made from recycled coffee cups and a selection of our curated upcycled furniture range all made from natural and sustainable materials.

We will also have an interactive workstation where guests can creatively collaborate in making a Wall Art hanging tapestry made from repurposed and remnant fabric pieces. Just pick some off-cut fabric provided and weave into the piece of art – let’s see how big we can get it! The Community Craft Project will be available to win when you enter the prize draw.

Grab a piece of vintage clothing or furniture from Verso Vintage who will be in the atrium all day.
